Terms of Sale
TERMS OF SALE:
Returns & Exchanges
Unused items in their original condition & packaging may be returned for the amount of the original sale, or exchanged for an item of equal or greater value with receipt within 14 days of purchase. In the event of a price difference in an exchange, you will be refunded or will need to pay the difference in cost.
Shipping is nonrefundable and nonlocal buyers are responsible for return shipping and insurance for the value of returned or exchanged items. Refunds and returns must be approved before you send any pieces back. Your refund will be processed within one week of receipt of returned item in stated condition.
We are unable to provide refunds on custom work or items that have been sized or otherwise altered to your specifications.
Gift Certificates are valid for one year from date of issue, and the physical certificate and listed recipient must be present in order to redeem.
All work sold by ‘Okina Jewelry comes with a 90-day warranty which includes full coverage for repair or replacement if a piece is broken under normal use. If a piece is lost or we determine that the damage occurred as a result of misuse or mishandling, this warranty is void.
Repairs outside of those that fall under our standard warranty will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. ‘Okina Jewelry is not responsible for repairs to our work made by others.
All work made at 'Okina Jewelry is made one piece at a time, by hand, using saws, files, sandpaper, torches, hammers, rotary tools and other time-tested tools and processes. The nature of handmade work is that each piece is completely unique, with signs of the artist's hand and each tool that has touched it evident in the final product. Unless an item is listed as one-of-a-kind, the images on our website are meant to be representational of the final work you will receive, as no two pieces are exactly alike. When you buy a piece of our jewelry, we hope you will enjoy knowing that no one in the world has exactly the same piece as you do!
All custom work begins with a free consultation. The consultation is followed by design work (renderings and/or written estimates for the project at hand). Once the final design and budget are agreed upon, a 50% deposit will be required before materials can be ordered and work will begin. Balance is due upon delivery of finished work. There are no refunds available on custom work.
Design fees for custom work are included in the finished project price, however you will be charged $60/hour for design work done that does not result in a finished project with us.
We do our best to list only in-stock items for sale online. Turnaround for shipping of in-stock items is 3-5 days from Hawai’i. Please see below (under “Shipping”) for info about actual delivery estimates.
For custom or waitlisted items, we will give you an estimate of production time and keep you apprised of any changes. Please keep in mind that ‘Okina Jewelry is owned and operated part time by one human on a rock in the middle of the ocean, so turnaround time will be longer than that of larger mainland companies.
Though we may be able to accommodate some last-minute orders, for custom commitment bands we appreciate at least 6 months’ notice.
Domestic: We ship from Hawai’i within the United States via USPS Priority Mail. The following standard shipping methods are available at checkout (all in USD):

For question or other shipping or insurance options, please email us.
Please note: choosing “uninsured” waives your right to file a claim with USPS if the item is lost or damaged in transit.
International: We ship internationally using First Class International Mail through the US Postal Service. Delivery times vary but average 7-14 days. Note: This service provides a tracking number only until it leaves the US. If you would like to be able to track your parcel all the way to your destination, email us to inquire about shipping via Registered Mail at an additional fee.
International shipping is subject to customs fees and may be held in customs for an indeterminate amount of time at the discretion of your country’s postal agency. ‘Okina Jewelry has no influence over or notification about these hold times. If your package does not arrive within the standard timeline, please check with your local customs office.
Your parcel will be insured for the value of the pieces inside, and requires an itemized list of its contents and their value on the outside of the parcel. Please be sure the address you have provided is secure and plan accordingly if you are sending someone a gift and do not want to ruin the surprise. ‘Okina Jewelry is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen during shipment.
If you are outside of the US, please be aware that customs charges may be incurred upon receipt of your parcel. These fees are determined by the destination country’s customs laws and will be your responsibility to pay - they are not covered by any shipping payments made to ‘Okina Jewelry. Learn more about customs fees for shipments by clicking on the name of your destination below:
**Please note that no matter the destination, shipping to and from the Islands generally takes longer than standard projected shipping times, especially during holidays, and overnight delivery is not available.
