Kupe'e are edible mollusks whose shells are prized for their use in ceremonial lei. The distinctive spiral pattern that appears on the side of each shell symbolizes the infinite and the interconnectedness between us.
Each kupe'e shell is hand-sawn from solid heavy gauge recycled Sterling silver sheet, lending it a graphic quality. Earrings are depletion gilded and finished with a Sterling ear wire or 14K gold post.
Choose post or wire. Posts sit flush against the ear, giving the appearance of an inch-high hoop earring from the front, while revealing the spiral pattern on the side. Wires seem to organically grow from the shell itself, and are about 2 1/4" long.
