Lashed Pendants
Traditional Hawaiian cordage was used in many applications, from fittings on canoes to adornment. My favorite part of the cordage has always been the lashing - the ornate woven patterns that attach the cords to whatever is being held by them. In the "Lashed" Series, I feature a typical lashing technique as the central element on fabricated recycled Sterling silver frames.
All cordage used is synthetic, so it is waterproof and rot-resistant to last for years. Pendants are hung from 18" solid Sterling silver box-link chains. Choose from black or "natural" colored cordage and ko'ili'pi (axe) or ale'o (tower) shaped frames.
Axe shape is approximately 1 3/4" L x 1" W; Tower shape is approximately 1 7/8"L x 5/8" W. Matching earrings also available HERE.
